Chris Ambra

I started Scouting in 1985 as a Tiger Cub and after earning my Arrow of Light, I joined Troop 202 in 1991.  I held the positions of Patrol Leader, Scribe, Instructor, and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader.  In 1994, my Troop elected me into the Order of the Arrow.  A year later I earned the Brotherhood Honor of the Order of the Arrow.  I have been to Fort AP Hill Virginia for two National Jamboree Trips with Troop 202, Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, and Assateague Island.  I have canoed down the Delaware River and spent a week at Camp Rodney in Delaware.  In 1996 I began to get active with the Order of the Arrow and have held Activities and Membership Committee Chairman positions.  I was elected Vice-Chief of Program in 1998 and received the Vigil  Honor of the Order of the Arrow.  My Vigil Honor Indian Name is Chan Gischihan which means “Elder Brother who Creates with Hands.”  In 1999 Otahnagon Lodge elected me Lodge Chief and in the summer of 2000 I went to the National Order of the Arrow Conference in Knoxville Tennessee.  Also in 2000 I was awarded the Founder’s Award of the Order of the Arrow.  I have served on Camp Staff in the Handicraft Lodge at Camp Tuscarora since 1996, and have been Handicraft Director since 1999.  In the spring of 2004, I went to National Camp School at Hawk Mountain where I was certified as a Program Director for the Boy Scouts of America.

Outside of Scouting, I have an associate’s degree in Business Administration from Broome Community College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies from Binghamton University, and I am currently attending the University of Montana for a Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology.  I hope to go into the field of Wildlife Law Enforcement upon graduation in Spring of 2005.

(Ed. - I don't have a picture of Chris, but he looks just like his twin Kevin. One's a little taller.)
